Skills for creating – coaching
Coaching based on the principles of structural dynamics enhances your power to create, enabling you to successfully bring your vision to life.
What creation process are you aiming for?
- A career shift?
- The next phase of entrepreneurship?
- A meaningful life despite chronic illness?
- Athletic achievements at an older age?
- Devoting your life to a hopeful future?
Structural dynamics coaching helps you shape the underlying structure of your creation process in such a way that taking the next step becomes easier than not taking it. This is called structural tension, a dynamic force similar to the tension created when drawing and aiming a bow. Artists, creative professionals, and top athletes often excel in working with this force, even if they might describe it in different terms.
Within this path of least resistance towards your desired outcome, you may encounter the full spectrum of human experiences. As far as I know, there is nothing more valuable or interesting than creating what matters to you. Yet, it can sometimes feel like hard work, frustration, reluctance, or fear. Welcome to being human! Fortunately, there’s something more enduring driving you than the ever-changing weather of your feelings: your intrinsic desire to achieve your goal becomes the organising and motivating force for your actions.
Shift the focus to your creation
and away from yourself
Structural dynamics coaching breaks with the tradition of focusing on yourself (on everything that’s problematic within you, how it came to be, and how to fix it). Instead, the focus is on creation—the outcome you want to achieve in your professional or personal life.
The market is flooded with countless misconceptions about successful creation. Through a creation-oriented approach, you’ll find that advice such as working on commitment, discipline, self-confidence, positive thinking, inspiration, letting go, or setting stretch goals becomes redundant.
You’ll develop a friendly relationship with the reality of your desire to create the outcome you want, as well as your current reality in relation to that goal. “Reality is an acquired taste,” says Robert Fritz—and it truly is. How liberating it is to no longer rely on tricks that ultimately don’t work or only have short-lived effects. Instead, you’ll build on a solid understanding of how a creation process functions.
Find your own easiest way
I don’t follow strict rules or methods but adhere to the principles of creation as outlined by Robert Fritz. These principles don’t dictate a specific way of working. You’ll use whatever suits you or works best to move toward your goal. If certain methods work well for you, you can incorporate them (as long as they don’t distort reality). You’ll rely on both your common sense and your feelings and instincts. You might plan meticulously or proceed organically and intuitively—or both. It’s about finding what works best for you in relation to what you want to create.
Everything you learn now about creating desired changes can be applied in the future to tackle new aspirations with expertise.
How do we work together?
We work together online unless you live nearby. Sessions are held every two weeks, lasting an average of 1.5 to 2.5 hours. We start with an orientation session, which is free of charge. After two months of working together, we evaluate progress and decide on the next steps. While I enjoy working with clients over the course of a year, shorter periods are also possible.
