Decision-making with clear financial insights
Towards intuitive reporting structures, managers equipped with clear management information, and good co-creation with financial teams.
Good management information that enables informed decision-making and planning for the future is not yet a given in the cultural sector. Managers often navigate half-blind. Cultural entrepreneurship is still evolving, and this is evident both in the business skills of cultural teams and in the creative skills of financial management to align their skills and systems to creative objectives and creative people.
This programme aims to bridge that gap. It will enhance the business skills of creative teams and the creative capacity of financial management.
Sharing knowledge and bridging gaps
The expertise needed to generate actionable management information often remains confined to the finance department. Furthermore, differences in language and seemingly conflicting priorities between financial and cultural teams can make this information inaccessible.
I will work with you to create structures that facilitate knowledge sharing, foster mutual understanding, and enable collaboration so that managers can manage well-informed.
I speak the language of numbers and finance & control cycles and understand the specialist mindset of accountants, controllers and bookkeepers, thanks to my experience as a controller and business manager.
Uniting interests
At times, it feels as though the finance department’s goals are at odds with those of the creative teams. However, this is based on a misunderstanding.
In this programme, I will bring the interests of both teams together, creating collaborative structures that benefit everyone involved.
Business expertise on non-profits
During this process, my experience in business management for non-profits and as an all-round copywriter is at your disposal. A career in business professionalisation within arts and culture has equipped me with knowledge of finance & control, bookkeeping, process optimisation, operations, legal structures, fundraising, and public subsidies. My work as a writer has spanned marketing copywriting and co-authoring business documents such as policy plans, annual reports, and grant applications in the cultural sector.
This knowledge is mostly based on how thing works in the Netherlands.
Fees
The first session is free in order for both of us to find out whether we are a good match. Additionally, I offer a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee if things don’t work out.
